Alright so last week we looked at the Mind of faith as we studied Hebrews 11, today we are going to continue by looking at the nature of faith.

Now some may be wondering what the difference is, yet it is simply this: The mind of faith is the logical definition of faith as your mind is concerned. Whereas the nature of faith is the definition of faith as your spirit is concerned. The former exposes the faith to your mind and the latter exposes it to your spirit.

If you are still confused, then let us take a look at the Biblical definition of what I have come to call “Spiritual Faith” found in Romans 4:16-17:

“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”

We can already see several key things in these verses. Firstly it makes it clear that faith is  the means by which we receive all things given to us by God’s grace.

This is important because we must have a solid understanding that we do not and can not earn God’s favor or gifts by our own merit or self-effort.

Second we can see that God’s Promises are to “all the seed”, that is all the seed of Abraham, this means to us. I have heard many preachers say that such things as Healing was only for the chosen few during the time of Jesus, but this scripture here makes it quit clear that the promise is for us all!

Thirdly we can see the main point of why we are reading this today, to understand the nature of faith. It is the same nature by which God Himself operates according to this verse.

That we see here being used as an example, the way God pronounced Abraham as being “made a father of many nations” before Abraham even had a single child from Sarah.

God calls things that are not as though they were.

Now this is not “wishful thinking” or “make-believe” or “pretending”, no these such things that I have just named are different because there is no real faith behind them and they have no solid foundation.

Faith is not believing something long enough so that it will happen… Faith instead is realizing something as true because God has promised it!

And specifically for the area of healing, faith is recognizing that it was paid for on the cross and already done at that time and any symptom that you may be experiencing is a lie from the enemy trying to steal what you an I as followers of Christ already have in Him and by His sacrifice.

If you are here today and have not yet put your faith in Christ then these promises are not for you, I need to make this clear. Yet the good news is that all you need to do to change that is to proclaim your desire to put your faith in Christ and confess that you are a sinner to God.

You can do this wherever you are. You do not need to be physically here with us today to do this. Just begin speaking to Him in your own words, He is your Father, and will not be cross with you, in-fact He bore the Cross for you!

My friends we receive this marvelous salvation by faith, why would we receive the chief gift which enables us to receive the other gifts, and then at the same time refuse the others? It makes no sense whatsoever to refuse anything that God desires to give us, and paid so dearly for.

This is the meaning of Romans 8:32:

“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?”

Jesus was the absolute best gift that could ever be given. His forgiveness of sins makes it possible for us to receive every blessing. After sparing not His own Son, God the Father would not withhold any of the lesser blessings from us (Health, healing, prosperity, etc.)

And notice the verse numbers…. 8 the number of superabundance; and 5 (3+2) the number of grace. Together: Superabundant Grace!

God wants to give us everything through grace, now let’s unleash our faith and take all of what He offers!
