About James:

From the moment that James was born, it was obvious that he was going to be anything but normal. Born roughly three months premature at a low-birth-weight of two pounds,

James was not even expected to survive at all. In-fact, James’ parents  were told that not only is James not likely to survive the first night, but his odds for surviving to his first birthday were extremely low. They were advised to just give-up and try again.

God had other plans though, and James’ parents did not give up. They fought long and hard, going into debt with medical expenses, and sending up countless prayers, as James spent the first year of his life in an incubator machine and respirator., with his parents needing to make regular trips to the hospital just to see him.

One night while on the respirator, James pulled the breathing tube out himself and began to breathe on his own. Even so, there were times during feedings when James would just randomly stop breathing and turn blue… times that were especially traumatic for his father.

James was born with a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, due to an underdeveloped brain-stem caused by lack of oxygen to the brain. James also is rated as 41 on the Autism-Spectrum Quotient (32 is mild Aspergers). He has also suffered numerous illnesses, ranging from pneumonia, to ITP.

Through it all though, James has a constant belief in the healing power of Jesus, as he says in his own words:

“There’s no reason for two people to pay for the same thing. Jesus took our sicknesses, diseases and infirmities on the cross. He paid for us to be free. And I find it silly that most people who claim to believe in Jesus who went around healing all, don’t believe in His healing today.”

James’ belief in the miraculous is communicated in his genuinely enthusiastic and heartfelt messages. And the fact that God can use this man, even with all of his weakness — and give him a message that rivals most messages out there today, shows that truly as Paul says in 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10:

“And He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

That is certainly true in James’ life, and yet even facing daily temptations to give-up and “accept” his situation, he presses on in faith declaring to all that will listen, that God will absolutely heal him, even going as far as to say this:

“I have had all manner of things tried on me, from medications, to therapies. From surgeries to eastern practices. No natural treatment can do anything to help me. And that is good! Because when my healing is seen by all, no-one will be able to deny that it was Jesus.”

James goes on to say that God has even uses him to bring healing to others:

“I have laid my hands on people and watched them be instantly healed. Now you have to appreciate the irony of someone obviously disabled, wheeling in a wheelchair, up to someone else, to lay hands on the other person for healing. But God honored that. We have been given the power of God to minister to people. We just need to not be afraid to use it.”

While James holds the title of Reverend as well as an honorary Doctor of Divinity from WCM, an independent ordaining ministry, and James has also received training from several traditional seminaries over the years, he still prefers that people just call him James or Jim:

“I actually like when people don’t address me with any title. In-fact the only reason I accepted the titles at all, was because I noticed that some people would rather talk to someone who had a title. It made them feel more comfortable. And so I accept the titles for the sake of those people. But at the end-of-the day, titles are just man-made approval. We all have a higher approval from God Himself, and that’s what we should focus on.”
