I wish you all blessing on this Thanksgiving— remembering that in Christ we always have good reason to be thankful, and every blessing in Him.

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1st Thessalonians 5:18)

Take notice that this verse doesn’t say to be thankful for all things, but to be thankful in all things. Not every circumstance is good; not everything is from God, but even in the trying times, even in evil circumstances, we can still be thankful in them– not for the trouble, but because our focus is still on Christ. As Psalm 107:1 says:

“O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endures for ever.”
