The title of today’s teaching is not an accident. While we are fast approaching Father’s Day here in the United States, there is one Father who usually is forgotten.

Now I am going to ask you a personal question… How do you see your Father in Heaven? Many people see Him as a judge, or a lawgiver. Some even see Him as a distant entity who simply is performing some giant experiment on the earth.

I ask this question because how you see Him will affect your faith and your receiving from Him.If you see God the Father as a judge, well that is not in lie wit how Jesus describes the Father in John 16.27:

For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.”

There are some people who because they have had an abusive father on earth, have had a difficult time picturing God as a Father in Heaven who truly loves them… but I can tell you with unshakable confidence that Jesus would not have said it if it were not true. And as you draw near to your Heavenly Father, the same love that Jesus displayed here on earth will be waiting for you in the arms of a loving Father which will embrace and protect you. A Father who rejoices in prospering you and will never be harsh with you. For this is the beauty of the New Covenant found in Christ Jesus.

Now if today you have been avoiding your Father in Heaven for fear of wrath or punishment, my message to you from Him is this: Today is the day to be reconciled. See, all of the punishment for your sins has been carried and done away with by Jesus. Believe on Jesus, let Hi wash you. He has shed His blood instead of yours. His body was broken so that yours can be healed. He was scorned and rejected so that you will always be accepted. There is nothing any more to fear.

This is the Gospel, the “Good News”. Your sin debt is paid and God is no longer angry. Jesus has paid for all time the debt that we have all incurred. Now you and I today have unbroken, unhindered and unrestricted access to the Father just as if we had never sinned in the first place. Because in His eyes, we haven’t! Jesus took our sis upon Himself. He received all that we deserved, and in-return we received everything that He deserved!

So if you are still seeing your sin and thinking that your Father will still be angry with you, my friend, you have a wrong idea about God and a wrong idea about yourself. It is time to let Jesus wash you in His forgiveness and reconcile with your Father God that loves you enough to send Jesus, firstborn Beloved Jesus, and spared Him not for our sakes.

Let us look at Jeremiah 29:11 and see the words of our loving Father:

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The words “expected end” there, simply mean a good reward and good offspring… it is not a euphemism for punishment! For f God were to punish you for your sins today, it would be as though Jesus never suffered in your place.

My friends don’t let yourself be held under condemnation any longer! Let Jesus wash you, and be cleansed and set free from all guilt and shame, and come see your Father who loves you and let all of Heaven rejoice as another son or daughter comes home!
